about
When I originally wrote ‘Rocket Shoes’ a few years ago, I was feeling let down and left out. It’s a little petty and angsty so I had left it in the voice memo graveyard. More often than not we are told to suppress our anger rather than express it, so this song is all about reconnecting with anger, processing it, and moving on 🚀🚀🚀
lyrics
Do you always have to fit the mould?
Claim you feel you're bought and sold
When the trends change from glitter to gold
Claim you're trying to keep your faith
But it's a matter of time and space
Don't you know you're already erased?
And the writing is black on a dark night
Won't even reveal for your own eyes
The fire's burned out but the smoke will rise
And the mirror distorts what you think is true
You're walking through doors into empty rooms
There's 54 floors and you're falling through
And I won't have nothing to say
We won't have nothing to do
Before this was all child's play
But now I can tell you the truth
You don't know me and I don't know you
Short-sighted, you decided
That these games that we play, we're all gonna lose
Cause we cannot keep up with your rocket shoes
Don't we know they'll take you to the moon oh yeah
Ignited, cannot hide it
Don't you know that these days there's a shorter fuse
I don't have time for feeling used
Yeah
I have no space for a silly bruise
And I won't have nothing to say
We won't have nothing to do
Before this was all child's play
But now I can tell you the truth
Cause I won't have nothing to say
And we won't have nothing to do
Before this was all child's play
Yeah
But now I can tell you the truth
You don't know me and I don't know you
Leaves fallen out of place
Fluttering around without a trace
Maybe I'll see your face
Your face
Your
But I wont have nothing to
Say
We won't have nothing to do
Before this was all child's play
Yeah
But now I can tell you the truth
Tell you the truth
Tell you the truth
'Cause I won't have nothing to say
And we won't have nothing to do
Before this was all child's play
Yeah
But now I can tell you the truth
You don't know me and I don't know
